Dahyatli Kakdi - Cucumber Yogurt Salad

This is one of the innumerable ways of making cucumber & yogurt salad - the one that my mom makes it.

Dahyatli Kakdi
Cucumber - Yogurt Salad
Ingredients
1 big cucumber or 3-4 small cucumbers, peeled & grated
1/2" ginger, peeled & grated
1 cup plain yogurt (I used organic fat-free)
1 tsp sugar (optional)
1 green chili, chopped
1/2 tsp mustard seeds powder (preferably freshly ground)

Method
1. Squeeze out moisture from the cucumber.
2. Mix all the ingredients.
3. Chill & serve

Note-
1. If desired, you can add tempering of oil, mustard seeds & asafoetida. I didn't add any.

This post is my contribution to AFAM - Cucumber at Neha's Easy N Tasty recipes.

My fave of all the raitas to have with Pulao, Biryani etc. Looks yum. I don't grate the cucumber but always cube. Well...I am on liquid diet whole day today, so let me not look at solid food today! :D

Anoop is back!! So is that dreaded Tatiana! OYY!!!

Cucumber and dahi are the first 2 things I think of in raita. I like your addition of rai powder, I like its taste, but hadnt tried in this before. So cooling that pic looks.
