Takachi Garam Kadhi

Taakachi Garam Kadhi
Malvani Buttermilk Soup
2 cups buttermilk
2 tbsp Gram Flour
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp sugar
salt to taste

Grind to a smooth paste
1/2" ginger
2 garlic cloves
4 small green chilies
1 tbsp coriander leaves /cilantro
2-3 curry leaves
1 tbsp coconut

2 tsp ghee
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp asafoetida
1/2 tsp mustard seeds

1. Mix the ground paste with buttermilk.
2. Add turmeric powder, sugar, salt and gram flour in the buttermilk mixture. Whisk till no lumps are formed.
3.Heat ghee in a saucepan. Add cumin seeds, asafoetida, mustard seeds.
4. As the seeds start to splutter, add buttermilk mixture.
5. Bring to a rapid boil. Switch off the gas.
6. Serve hot with plain rice.

Note -
1. While the kadhi is boiling, pay close attention to avoid boiling over.
