Methi & Rice Dosa
Rice-Fenugreek Seeds DosaIngredients
1 cup brown rice
1 tbsp methi seeds
salt to taste
oil for shallow frying
Method
1. Soak rice and methi/fenugreek seeds in water for 6-8 hours.
2. Grind to a smooth paste adding enough water.
3. Add salt and make the batter of pancake or dosa batter consistency.
4. Heat the pan and spread thin dosa. Use oil as needed.
Note -
1. This dosa needs to be soft and thin.
2. Regular white rice can also be used.
3. 1 tablespoon of methi seeds make this dosa flavored with the characteristic bitter flavor. If you do not like it too bitter, reduce the amount of fenugreek seeds.

This is new to me, Meera. My mil's mom fed me wt 'uluva' (methi) dosas wt methi soaked and ground wt normal dosa batter after my deliveries 4 a healthy strong back! Tks 4 sharing!
This is my hubby's fav. Look so good and crispy. YUM!
Healthy stuff !! Nice one .. I think the good part is I dont have to wait for the dosa batter to rise right or do I? I was just thinking the other day as i had moong and methi sprouts which i made .. how they would taste if ground and put in the batter. Should try for my 3 yr old. Thanks

No fermenting is necessary for this dosa. Hope, your little one loves it.

Do try it if you like that bitterish flavor.

I knew methi seeds are added to usual dosa/idlis but didn't know that they result in soft idlis. Thanks for sharing. Glad to see you after a long time. Check your email!
