Dudhi Thepla



Dudhi Thepla
Bottlegourd Flatbread
Ingredients
1 small bottlegourd, peeled, de-seeded, grated - about 1 cup
1 1/2 cup wheat flour
2 tbsp besan
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp owa/ajmo/
1/2 tsp chili powder
salt to taste
1 tbsp plain yogurt
1 tsp oil

wheat or rice flour for dredging while rolling

oil for roasting

Method
1. Knead all the ingredients for the dough adding water as needed.
2. Make about 7 balls.
3. Roll into thin discs using flour while rolling.
4. Roast on both sides, adding oil as needed.
5. Serve warm.

Note -
1. Keep the roasted theplas in a clean kitchen napkin or aluminum foil till ready to eat.

I remembered one more mom's fav -deep fried--doodhi-yay kalya bajjo..simply translates to bhajjia made from bud of doodhi flower! Too much extorted these bechari doodhis!
I shall soon try these 3 recipes..just had my lunch- ur masoor khichdi..on gas top.(again!) :D
